These are the 100 Best EVOOs in the World of this campaign

Rincón de la Subbética Altitude and Monini Monocultivar Coratina Bio, number 1 ex aequo of EVOOLEUM Awards 2022

Historical. For the first time in the seven editions of the EVOOLEUM Awards, the best EVOO in the world for the 2021/22 campaign is not one, but two. Rincón de la Subbética Altitude (Córdoba, Spain) and Monini Monocultivar Coratina Bio (Perugia, Italy) have won, with 97 points, the prestigious -and long-awaited- EVOOLEUM ABSOLUTE BEST 2022, sharing the ex aquo prize after an unprecedented technical tie.

The success of Monini Monocultivar Coratina Bio (Monini, S.p.A.) -which was already the absolute winner in the 2018 edition and was part of the TOP10 in 2021- only confirms the high quality of the juices of this Italian company with more than one century of life -its history started in 1920- based in Spoleto (Perugia), a national and international reference in the world of extra virgin. For its part, Rincón de la Subbética Altitude (Almazaras de la Subbética, S.L.U.) -member of the EVOOLEUM TOP10 and winner in the categories of Best PDO Spain and Best Hojiblanca in the last edition- vindicates its place of origin in the best possible way, the Natural Park of the Sierras Subbéticas, a magical and privileged environment where some of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world are born and produced.

The splendid 97 points out of 100 achieved by this unique duo of organic monovarietals of Coratina and Hojiblanca equal the score obtained last year by Olibaeza Premium Picual, from S.C.A. from Campo El Alcázar, from which they take the witness as the best EVOOs in the world according to the criteria of the 26 tasters of the VII International Awards for the Quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil-EVOOLEUM Awards, the most important private competition in the world promoted by Mercacei Publishing Group and AEMO that each campaign recognizes the 100 best EVOOs on the planet. Monini Monocultivar Coratina Bio and Rincón de la Subbética Altitude lead a classification that includes 68 Spanish extra virgins -including 54 Andalusians, with 29 representatives from Jaén and 19 from Córdoba- and 32 from the rest of the world, with up to nine producing countries represented: 17 from Italy, 4 from Greece, 3 from Croatia, 2 from Tunisia and France, and a representative from Portugal, Morocco, South Africa and Brazil. How could it be otherwise, the Mediterranean Basin to power.
